About Me
My Journey:
Aviation wasn’t always the plan. Growing up, I was set on becoming a doctor and even began my college career at Florida Atlantic University as a biology major. However, after a semester in the program, I realized that my true passion lay in aviation. The more time I spent in the air, the clearer it became; I wanted to make it my career. So, I made the leap, trading lab reports for logbooks, and I haven’t looked back since.
Earning My Pilot’s License:
I began flight training at 16 and soloed shortly after my 17th birthday. A few months later, I earned my private pilot license, and I quickly built on that foundation, obtaining my instrument rating (IFR) just a few months after that. By the time I turned 18, I had earned my commercial pilot certificate, setting the stage for what would become a full-fledged career in aviation.
Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor:
Instructing was a natural next step. I earned my Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) certificates simultaneously in 2022. By December of that year, I had also obtained my Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII), expanding my ability to train both VFR and IFR students. Most recently, in 2025, I earned my Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) certificate, allowing me to teach across a broader spectrum of aviation disciplines.
Leading the Boca Raton Flying Club:
As President of the Boca Raton Flying Club, I manage a fleet of aircraft and oversee maintenance operations, member relations, and overall club satisfaction. Running the club has given me hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, insurance, and airport operations—skills that go far beyond just flying. Balancing the logistics of keeping aircraft airworthy with ensuring a great experience for members has sharpened my leadership, problem-solving, and business management skills in ways I never expected.
Commitment to Safety and Professional Growth:
Safety is at the core of everything I do, whether I’m flying, instructing, or managing aircraft operations. I emphasize strong decision-making, risk management, and situational awareness with my students, ensuring they develop safe habits that will last their entire careers. I continually seek opportunities to refine my skills and expand my knowledge, attending industry conferences such as the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) Conference and the Florida Aviation Safety and Networking Association (FASANA) Conference.
Industry Involvement and Advocacy:
Beyond flying, I’m actively involved in organizations that promote aviation education and mentorship. I’m a proud member of Women in Aviation International (WAI), The Ninety-Nines (99s), and the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI). These organizations have provided me with invaluable networking opportunities, mentorship, and a platform to give back to the aviation community.
It is an honor to work alongside the South Florida Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) as a member of the FAA FAAST Safety Team (FAASTeam). This role allows me to actively contribute to aviation safety by promoting risk management, pilot proficiency, and industry best practices. Through safety seminars, workshops, and outreach efforts, I help foster a culture of continuous learning and awareness among pilots and aviation professionals. Being part of the FAASTeam has deepened my commitment to elevating safety standards within the aviation community.
Pursuing Higher Education:
To further expand my expertise in aviation leadership and operations, I am pursuing a Master’s in Aviation Management from Purdue University with certificates in Aviation Finance and Aviation Safety. This program will allow me to deepen my knowledge in key areas of the industry while continuing to advocate for safety and operational excellence.
Competing in the 2025 Air Race Classic:
I’m thrilled to be participating in the 2025 Air Race Classic, a historic cross-country race that challenges female pilots in precision flying, navigation, and strategy. Spanning approximately 2,400 statute miles over four days, the race celebrates the legacy of the pioneering women who paved the way in aviation.
This race has not only tested my piloting skills in new and unfamiliar terrain but has also been an incredible opportunity to develop teamwork, networking, and promotional skills. Through our participation, my team and I have been proud to represent and promote our generous sponsors: **Electronics International, Michelin Tires, Lightspeed, and Shelter.** Their support has made this journey possible, and I am grateful for the chance to showcase their contributions to aviation.
Beyond Aviation:
While aviation is a huge part of my life, I have other passions as well. I speak four languages, which has allowed me to connect with people from all over the world—both in aviation and beyond. And when I’m not flying or teaching, you can probably find me on the tennis court. Whether in the air or on the court, I’ve always loved a good challenge.
